Roundup: 10 Herd hoops games on TV

The Marshall men's basketball team will play 10 televised games during the upcoming season.In addition to the three CBS Sports Network, one Fox Sports Network and one ESPN2 broadcast announced last month, the Thundering Herd will play three more Conference USA games on CSS.The selected CSS games are Marshall at Southern Miss on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., Central Florida at Marshall on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and Marshall at Houston on March 2 at 2 p.m.The Herd's game at Villanova on Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. will be shown on Capital Classic between Marshall and West Virginia in Charleston on Dec. 5 will be shown statewide on Capital Classic Network.

  • WVC SPORTS: Renee Boudreau scored on a through-ball breakaway in the 61st minute as the University of Charleston edged host Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday  in Johnstown, Pa. Courtney Budd made four saves for the Golden Eagles (5-5-1) and Timi Shiock stopped 10 shots for Pitt-Johnstown (8-3).
  • For the fourth time this season, Concord's Robby Peters has been named the West Virginia Conference men's cross country runner of the week. Peters recorded a time of 26:38.33 to win the Greensboro Invitational on Saturday, his third win of the season. His performance helped the Mountain Lions earn a second-place finish.
  • Jenny Brewer of Alderson-Broaddus has been named the conference women's cross country runner of the week.
  • Brewer won the Bethany College Invitational last Saturday with a time of 24:08. The victory was her second of the season, guiding the Battlers to a third-place team finish.

    Alen Hanson is one of 12 nominees for Breakout Prospect of the Year and Nathan Kilcrease has been nominated for the Relief Pitcher of the Year award.
