Harold Payne and Steve Fox won their fourth West Virginia Senior Four-Ball championship Tuesday on The Greenbrier's Meadows Course.Payne and Fox defeated Daniels' Greg McGraw and Beckley's Dennis Vass in a one-hole playoff for the Championship Division title.Both teams finished the 36-hole tournament with a 2-under-par 138.Tommy Holland and Tom Turner, both of Hurricane, won the Senior Division with a score of 5 under par.
UC SOCCER: The University of Charleston men's soccer team moved up to No. 5 in the NSCAA NCAA Division II national coaches poll, announced Tuesday.UC rebounded fromr its first loss of the season with lopsided wins against Shepherd and Ohio Valley last week to jump seven spots from last week's No. 12 ranking.The Golden Eagles (10-1-3, 7-0 West Virginia Conference) are in contention for the top regional playoff spot with two regular-season games remaining - today against Wheeling Jesuit and Saturday against West Virginia Wesleyan.

MU SOCCER: The Marshall men's team defeated Florida International 2-0 at Hurricane High School Tuesday. Freshman Matt Freeman netted the first goal before Tom Jackson converted a penalty kick in the final minutes to secure the win for MU (11-3-1).nn
WVU CROSS COUNTRY: Nine runners from the West Virginia University cross country team have been named to the 2012 Academic All-Big 12 cross country first and second teams. Kaitlyn Gillespie, Jordan Hamric, Sarah Martinelli, Aubrey Moskal, Hallie Portner and Kelly Williams were all selected to the first team with Stephanie Aldea and Chelsea Jarvis earning second-team honors.nn
WVU SOCCER: WVU's Amanda Hill was named the Big 12 women's soccer newcomer of the week.
Hill scored her second career goal for the eventual game-winning goal against Oklahoma last week and helped the Mountaineers clinch the Big 12 regular-season conference title.
