Prep football: Point Pleasant hammers Oak Glen 50-6
Marquez Griffin ran nine times for 111 yards and two touchdowns Saturday afternoon as Point Pleasant earned a 50-6 prep football win at Oak Glen.
Aden Yates also fired a pair of scoring passes for the Big Blacks (7-2), both going to Chase Walton on plays of 15 and 21 yards. Yates hit on 10 of 15 attempts for 143 yards with one interception and Walton had four grabs for 64 yards.
Zach Staley had the lone score for the Golden Bears (4-5) on a 9-yard carry.
Taylor hit on 8 of 12 passes for 164 yards, with Hill catching four of those for 98 yards, including TD connections of 6, 74 and 6 yards. Ben D'Annunzio added 154 yards rushing on 23 carries for the No. 5 Eagles (9-1).
For the No. 6 Skyhawks (7-2), Cam Loftus run 12 times for 57 yards. Scott was limited to six first downs and 112 net yards.
Hodge added a 30-yard TD run, 17-yard scoring catch and 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the Pioneers (9-0). Brandon White had a 10-yard TD run for the Tigers (4-5) and Max Spradlin completed 8 of 14 passes for 81 yards.
Luke Scott added 114 yards on 21 carries for the Raiders (6-3), and Hunter Bradley hit on 10 of 16 passes for 130 yards and two scores and ran for another TD. Bradley also carried 15 times for 79 yards. Tyler King had nine catches for 127 yards and a TD.
For Wirt County (6-3), Josh Trembly ran 17 times for 208 yards and one TD and completed 10 of 20 passes for 231 yards and two more scores.
For Man, Noah Maynard and Neil Mullins ran for scores and David Belcher caught a TD pass from John Keffer as their team rallied from a 24-0 halftime deficit.
Also for Wahama, Crandale Neal ran nine times for 109 yards and two scores. The Falcons finished with 426 rushing yards and 505 total yards. They led 59-12 at halftime over Miller (1-9).
