Freshman Jennie Simms added 11 points, including a 6-of-6 effort at the free-throw line, while sophomore Crystal Leary had nine points and 10 rebounds.

WVC VOLLEYBALL: Top-seeded Wheeling Jesuit defeated No. 2 Seton Hill 25-15, 25-13, 25-18 for its fifth straight West Virginia Conference volleyball tournament title Saturday afternoon at the University of Charleston.Allissa Ware, an all-tournament selection, turned in a match-high 13 kills with no errors for a .448 attack percentage for the Cardinals, who received an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II national tournament. WVU CROSS COUNTRY: West Virginia University senior Sarah-Anne Brault finished 76th at the NCAA cross country championships Saturday morning in Louisville, Ky. Brault, a three-time NCAA All-Mid Atlantic Region honoree, turned in a time of 20 minutes, 36 seconds on the 6-kilometer course. Iowa State's Besty Saina won with a clocking of 19:27. Oregon won the team title for the first time since 1987 with 114 points.
MU VOLLEYBALL: No. 3 Central Florida defeated No. 6 Marshall 26-28, 28-15, 25-20, 25-21 Friday night in the opening round of the Conference USA tournament at Tulsa, Okla. Laura Der, an all-conference selection, had a match-high 23 kills and added 14 digs for Marshall (18-13).
