The West Virginia wrestling team was dominated by No. 1 Penn State 44-3 on Sunday in Morgantown.Colin Johnston had the lone WVU win of the day, defeating Nate Morgan 6-2 in the 133-pound division.The Mountaineers will travel to Las Vegas to compete in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Nov. 30.The No. 2 West Virginia rifle team stayed undefeated on the season, defeating No. 4 Alaska-Fairbanks 4,719-4,670 on Saturday night in Morgantown.
PREP FOOTBALL: Tucker County exploded for 34 points in the third quarter as the Class A No. 1 Mountain Lions rolled to a 48-14 quarterfinal playoff win over No. 8 Clay-Battelle on Saturday in Parsons.Austin Zirk ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns for Tucker (12-0) while Zach Armstrong found the end zone on runs of 2 and 8 yards and hauled in a 6-yard touchdown pass from Derek Nestor.Tristan Haught threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns for the Cee-Bees.MAGNOLIA 19, EAST HARDY 14: Tanner Hanna ran for a pair of touchdowns as No. 2 Magnolia downed visiting No. 7 East Hardy in the Class A high school football quarterfinals on Saturday.
Hanna finished the day with nine carries for 28 yards for the Blue Eagles (11-1), while passing for 98 yards and one interception.
