Jordan Brock and Jasmine Blanton scored a team-high 14 points apiece as the West Virginia State women's basketball team picked up a 77-71 season-opening win Tuesday over host Seton Hill in Greensburg, Pa.India Taste chipped in 13 points for the Yellow Jackets (1-0), while Kashauna Cook added 12 in the conference win.   • MU SPORTS: The Marshall softball team announced Tuesday the signing of three area players, Morgan Kelley and Morgan Zerkle of Milton and Jessica Watts of Wayne, to national letters of intent. Kelley, Watts and Zerkle were all members of the West Virginia Mountain Thunder, a summer travel team that recently captured the 18-and-under Eastern championship.

The WVCRSL is designed for under-12 through under-19 competitive teams wishing to compete in the West Virginia State Cup in May for the chance to move on to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Championships to be held in Rhode Island in June.
