Girls roundup: Jones, Pinkerton lead Sissonville past Hoover
Madison Jones scored 22 points and Karli Pinkerton added 16 as host Sissonville defeated Herbert Hoover 50-31 Tuesday night in girls high school basketball.
Jones hit four 3-pointers for Sissonville (8-2), which took a 28-13 halftime lead. Jordan Marshall and Caroline Thornburg scored seven points apiece for Herbert Hoover (6-3).
Mckenzie Akers exploded for 24 points for Princeton (7-1) while Khadija Payne and Maranda Wimmer had 16 and 14 points, respectively. Sarah Kessley scored seven points for Oak Hill.
Makayla Willis added 12 points in the win for the Grizzlies (9-1). For Richwood (5-4), Hannah Brown was the leading scorer with nine points.
For visiting James Monroe (7-3), Carter Shifflet had 17 points, Kelsie Mann tallied 11 and Laine Shifflet scored 10.
Andrea Porter scored a team-high nine points for the Big Blacks (3-9).
Angel Dahn had 10 for Parkersburg Christian (4-2).
Courtney Kendrick had a game-high 23 points for Cross Lanes (8-4) while Julianna Lowery finished with 11.
