MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The West Virginia University baseball team improved its record to 4-5 with a 4-0 win against the University of Maryland Baltimore County at the Caravelle Resort Baseball at the Beach tournament.Sophomore left-hander John Means pitched seven shutout innings with three hits with five strikeouts for his second win of the season. Junior right-hander Corey Holmes pitched two innings of no-hit relief, striking out two and walking one.The Mountaineers scored all four of their runs with two outs and were paced by former Nitro standout Matt Frazer, who had two RBIs and one run scored. Sophomore center fielder Bobby Boyd had one hit, two runs and a stolen base from the leadoff spot.nn
MU BASEBALL: Marshall was held to just two hits and lost 6-0 to Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C.For the Herd (3-5), Wayland Moore pitched 31/3 innings, allowing five hits and four runs with three walks and a strikeout for the loss. Wofford's Jesse Morris pitched seven innings and allowed the two hits, issued zero walks and had 10 strikeouts to get the win.Marshall played another game against Wofford late Saturday and is set to take on South Carolina Upstate today at 1 p.m.
CHAOS TRYOUT: The West Virginia Chaos soccer team will host a tryout from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Schoenbaum Stadium in Charleston.Spots are available for the Premier Development League team as well as the reserve team. The PDL is the highest level of amateur soccer in the United States and Canada.

REDS BUS TRIP: The Kanawha City Lions Club will sponsor a bus trip to watch the Cincinnati Reds' home game against the Milwaukee Brewers at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.Cost of the trip is $65 per person, which includes a ticket to the game.
