Prep roundup: Lincoln County hands Hurricane first softball loss

Brandi Isaacs blasted a three-run home run and teammate Amy Parsons hit a two-run shot to help lead Lincoln County to a 9-1 prep softball win Friday against visiting Hurricane.Brooke West got the win for the Panthers (6-2), allowing one run on eight hits in five innings. Faith Huffman went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for Lincoln County.The loss was the first this season for Hurricane (7-1), which got a home run and a 2-for-2 performance from Addie Fullen.
  • SHERMAN SWEEPS CLAY: Sherman picked up two wins at home by the scores of 11-0 and 8-0.
  • Tori May, Hali Jarrell, and Paige Halstead each had two hits and an RBI in the first game for the Tide while Taylor Hendricks homered and drove in a pair of runs. Demi Jarrell drove in two more for Sherman in the three-inning mercy-rule win.In the second game, Mackenzie Smith homered and drove in three runs as Sherman rang up a win in six innings. Hayley Buzzard added three hits and an RBI for the Tide (6-1).
  • ROANE COUNTY 9, RAVENSWOOD 5: Cassidy Taylor went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles as Roane County downed Ravenswood.
  • Kelsie Nichols chipped in a pair of hits for the Raiders (4-0). Savannah Casto went 3 for 4 with a triple for the Red Devils.
  • SISSONVILLE 10, POCA 0: Sissonville's Alexee Haynes struck out seven batters on her way to three-inning a no-hit win over Poca.
  • Kaitlyn Linville went 3 for 3 with two doubles for the Indians (5-2) while Taylor Legg added a pair of hits.
  • WINFIELD 9, LOGAN 7: Winfield exploded for five runs in the fourth inning as the Generals outlasted visiting Logan.
  • Kenna Markham went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Winfield (5-3) while Kalie Ferrell posted a triple and two RBIs. Summer Collins went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Wildcats (2-4).
  • RIVERSIDE SWEEPS CAPITAL: Riverside used a pair of three-run innings to sweep a doubleheader from visiting Capital, 5-2 and 10-2.
  • In game one, Felica Burton and Cassidy Schmidt had two hits each for Riverside.Destine Diegert went 3 for 3 with a triple in game two for the Warriors (8-4) while Sara winter had two hits. Lexi Brown had a double in each game for the Cougars (0-7).
  • PRINCETON 3, SC 0: Bo Williams gave up no runs on two hits, striking out 10 and walking four, as Princeton downed visiting South Charleston.
  • Ian Southcott went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI for the Tigers while Addison Wood had two hits and drove home a run. Antonio Brown had the two lone hits for the Black Eagles.
  • SA 9, OAK HILL 2: Austin Harless went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles for host St. Albans. Phoenix Shrewsbury and Clark Bryant also had two hits apiece for the Red Dragons (3-3).
  • Robert Sullivan went 1 for 3 with an RBI for Oak Hill (2-3).
  • CAPITAL 2, WOODROW 1: Jacob Williams hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the eighth as Capital (3-3) snuck by visiting Woodrow Wilson.
  • Hunter Greco went 2 for 4 for the Flying Eagles (0-2).
  • POINT PLEASANT 11, WINFIELD 10: Tylun Campbell's two-out hit in the bottom of the seventh brought in the winning run for Point Pleasant (4-3) against visiting Winfield.
  • Campbell finished 3 for 3 with three RBIs while the Big Blacks' Gage Buskirk went 2 for 3 with one RBI.For Winfield (4-3), Josh Bumgarner went 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs.
  • POCA 9, BUFFALO 3: Catcher Evan McClanahan went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Brett Watts drove in three runs in Poca's win against visiting Buffalo.
  • Matt Chandler added two hits and Noah Frampton had a double for the Dots (4-1), while Michael Erwin had two hits for the Bison (0-3).
  • GW 12, SHADY SPRING 2: Clayton Anderson went 2 for 3 with a double, home run and five RBIs as George Washington won at home.
  • Connor Moffatt added three hits, including two doubles, for the Patriots (6-1) while John Thomas contributed two hits and two RBIs. Jordan Meadows had a pair of hits for Shady Spring.
  • LOGAN 12, RIPLEY 2: Troy Burgess went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs as Logan downed Ripley in a five-inning mercy-rule contest.
  • Josh Rein and Zach Minnick contributed a pair of hits each for the Wildcats (3-1). Isaac Koontz went 3 for 3 for the Vikings and Johnny Stepp had a pair of hits.
