Tristan Fields struck out 11 Monday in a five-inning no-hitter as Herbert Hoover rolled to a 14-0 prep baseball win over visiting Sissonville.
At the plate, Sean Craze had three RBIs on one hit (a triple), Shaun Dotson went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and Ryan Shamblin went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for the Huskies (11-0).
For Sissonville (6-9), Robbie Phillips, Austin Burford and Trent Bodnar all pitched in the loss.
ST. ALBANS 15, RIPLEY 5: Clark Bryant tossed a five-inning five-hitter as the visiting Red Dragons (8-3) won their seventh straight. Phoenix Shrewsbury and Andrew Mathews led the SA offense with three hits apiece. Mathews drove in three runs. For the Vikings (4-9), Tyler Pittenger and Dalton Wentz each went 2 for 2.
SPRING VALLEY 2, GW 1: The Timberwolves posted two runs in the first inning and held on to beat visiting George Washington. Elijah Wellman went 3 for 3 with a double and triple for Spring Valley (4-4). Garrett Vogelbach and Connor Moffatt had two hits each for the Patriots (8-4).
CABELL MIDLAND 11, SC 6: Seth Kinker went 4 for 5 with a double and two RBIs as Cabell Midland earned a home win.
Taylor Kuhn and Derek Adkins had two hits apiece for the Knights. Antonio Brown and Jonathan Cline each had a pair of hits for South Charleston.
POINT 14, WAHAMA 0: Evan Potter scattered four hits and struck out six for Point Pleasant in a five-inning home win. Alex Somerville went 3 for 4 with four RBIs for the Big Blacks (6-6), and Tylun Campbell and Gage Buskirk each contributed two hits apiece. Wyatt Zuspan went 1 for 2 for the White Falcons (3-3).
VALLEY 7, VAN 2: Druw Bowen went 3 for 3 with a triple, homer and drove in three as Valley posted a home win. Raeshawn Breackenridge added a pair of hits, including a double and triple for the Greyhounds (9-4). Tyler Workman had a hit and an RBI for Van.
SCOTT 6, CHAPMAN-VILLE 5: Forrest Spurlock went 2 for 3 with a double and a grand slam as host Scott won. Cody Blevins added three hits and an RBI for the Skyhawks (6-5). William Copley and Scotty Thompson each had a hit for Chapmanville.
SHERMAN 16, TUG VALLEY 5: The Tide erupted for six runs in the seventh to earn a road win. John Hunter went 3 for 3 with a double for Sherman and Aaron Lowe and Duncan Breeden each had two hits. Trevor Horn donated a hit and RBI for the Panthers.
LINCOLN COUNTY 5, WAYNE 4: Colby Brogan doubled and had two RBIs as Lincoln County picked up a road win. Dakota Whitten also had a hit and drove home two runs for the Panthers. Zack Cassidy went 2 for 4 with a triple for Wayne.
SC, WINFIELD SPLIT: South Charleston scored six runs on just three hits to take the first game of a doubleheader at Winfield 6-3. The Generals struck back in the second game, winning 10-2 in five innings.
For SC (6-5), Merrideth Cain had two RBIs in the first game and Aayliyah Phillips was 2 for 2 with an RBI in the second game. Katie Legg and Abbie Short each had an RBI in the first game for the Generals (8-8), and Ally Funk went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple and Kenna Markham added three RBIs in Winfield's win.
HURRICANE SWEEPS NITRO: Hurricane pitching held Nitro to just six combined hits as the Redskins won a pair on the road 13-0, 11-0. Courtney Rogers went 2 for 4 with a home run and a pair of RBIs in the first game for the Redskins and tossed all four innings. Lindsey Reynolds had a pair of hits with a homer and two RBIs and Maddie Hebb added a solo home run in the second game, which ended in five innings.
SA SWEEPS GW: Mariah Caudill had three hits, including two home runs and six RBIs, as St. Albans swept host George Washington 6-2, 13-3. Whitney Jones added four hits for the Red Dragons (16-1) and Ali Haynes had three hits, including a triple. Rachel Ward and Ali Ferrell each had two hits for the Patriots.
BUFFALO 11, WAHAMA 2: Ali Burdette and Olivia Dunn had three hits apiece for Buffalo. Katie Higginbotham and Paige England also had two hits for the Bison (9-2). Kelsey Billups and Darian Weaver posted two hits each for Wahama.
HOOVER 3, SISSONVILLE 2: Herbert Hoover scored a run in the bottom of the seventh as it edged visiting Sissonville. Ashley Tignor went 3 for 4 with a double for Hoover and Amber Oakes added two hits and an RBI. Bekah Baldwin was 2 for 3 for the Indians (7-5).
MAN 11, CATHOLIC 1: Summer Sword went 2 for 3 with a double as Man cruised to a four-inning win over Charleston Catholic. Tabitha Ferguson had a pair of hits for the Hillbillies. Ally Persily had a double for the Fighting Irish (6-4).
SCOTT SWEEPS MINGO: Scott beat visiting Mingo Central twice and didn't give up a hit in either game. Ally Brown fired a perfect game in the opener of the doubleheader, leading the Skyhawks to a 10-0 win. Jennifer Miller's no-hitter in the nightcap paced Scott to a 14-0 win. Brown also went 3 for 3 with four RBIs in the first game, and Kasandra Johnson went 2 for 3 in the second game to help Scott (9-4) to the win.
