Trey Dawson, Alexander Dunham and Zach Pate each recorded two hits for the Redskins (16-3). Jordon Clark went 3 for 4 for Winfield while Tanner Bailey and Brandon Wright had two hits each.
NITRO 11, NORTH MARION 3: Ryan McDonough went 3 for 4 with a double and home run as Nitro won at home.
Evan Eich and Jacob Bradley contributed two hits apiece for the Wildcats (11-4). Devin Ayerman posted a double for North Marion.
SISSONVILLE 10, RIPLEY 5: Houston Hill went 2 for 4 with two RBIs to pace the host Indians. Zach Null allowed four earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts in a complete-game effort for Sissonville (7-16). Cody Pittenger laced two hits and drove in three runs for the Vikings.
CLAY SWEEPS CALHOUN: Ethan Smith went a combined 5 for 6 with two doubles and two RBIs as Clay County picked up two wins over Calhoun County by scores of 13-3 and 18-4.
Adam Taylor also combined for four hits and drove home a run for the Panthers (10-8) while Chris Cole went 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs in game two. Michael Fulks drove home two runs in game one for the Red Devils (1-16).
GW, NITRO SPLIT: Jessi Thevenin and Rachel Ward drove in four and three runs, respectively, as George Washington defeated host Nitro 12-3 in five innings in the nightcap to gain a split of a doubleheader.
Katie Jones rapped out three hits, including two doubles, and knocked in three runs to lead the Wildcats past the Patriots 11-4 in the opener. Crystal Dunn smacked a solo homer for Nitro in the second game. Ward doubled twice and Bailey Rabel went 2 for 4 with an RBI for GW (9-11) in the first game.
BUFFALO 8, NORTH MARION 0: Chelsey Parkins fired a two-hit shutout and fanned 12 for the Bison at Morgantown.
Ali Burdette went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Class A No. 3 Buffalo (17-4) while Amanda Christy legged out two hits and knocked in two runs. Shelby King and Chelsi Latocha each singled for the Huskies (11-8).
WAYNE SWEEPS: Emily Thompson fired her second no-hitter of the season and fanned seven in the nightcap as host Wayne earned an 11-1, 10-0 doubleheader sweep against Mingo Central. In the opener, Kasey Endicott and Thompson slugged home runs to spark an 11-hit attack for the Pioneers (16-4).
