Max Moroff launched a three-run homer as part of a four-run second inning and the West Virginia Power used the early offense to coast to a 6-3 win over Greenville in the first game of a four-game set on Sunday at Appalachian Power Park. A crowd of 1,279 braved the rainy weather that delayed the game 40 minutes.Josh Bell added a two-run shot for the Power (13-16) and D.J. Crumlich doubled and drove in a run.John Kuchno (1-1) turned in a solid start on the mound and picked up a win after tossing six innings and yielding just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out one. Kyle Haynes came on to get the final out of the ninth and earned his first save of the season.Drew Turocy had a double and a pair of RBIs for the Drive (10-19).The teams will continue the series at 7:05 tonight.nn
MARSHALL BASEBALL: Tucker Tubbs went 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs as the Memphis baseball team earned an 8-5 win over visiting Marshall on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep. Gray Stafford had a pair of hits with a homer and two RBIs to lead the Thundering Herd (18-29 overall, 5-13 Conference USA). Eric Escobedo also had two hits for Marshall.The Herd will begin a three-game series against East Carolina at Epling Stadium in Beckley at 7 p.m. on Friday.

PREP BASKETBALL: Kentucky earned an 83-66 win over West Virginia in girls and the West Virginia boys beat Kentucky 116-86 in the first Consol Energy All-Star games held at Mingo Central High School Saturday.Katelyn Newsome won MVP honors for the Kentucky girls team after scoring 17 points and Rachel Ward of George Washington took the West Virginia MVP award after scoring 24.Carlos Arroyo scored 25 points to lead the West Virginia boys and earn an MVP award. Kentucky's Ray Kasonga earned one as well after scoring 15.
