Power, Legends split doubleheader


CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Power split a doubleheader with the Lexington Legends, winning the first game 3-2 and falling in the nightcap 6-4 Saturday at Appalachian Power Park.In the first game, Lexington jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning before the Power answered with a run in the second and a two in the fifth. Reliever Pat Ludwig (3-0) pitched three hitless innings to earn the win. West Virginia's Dilson Herrera saw his seven-game hitting streak snapped.Lexington (21-21) showed up in the second game, recording 10 hits with five different Legends driving in runs. The Power's John Kuchno (1-3) took the loss, allowing six earned runs in five innings.The Power (21-21) and Legends play the final game of the four-game series at 2:05 p.m. today.
West Virginia then heads out for a three-game series at Kannapolis.
