Roundup: BlueClaws rally past Power; Woodwards win Four-Ball title
Lakewood struck for two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth as it rallied late to hand the West Virginia Power an 8-5 loss on Sunday at Lakewood Township, N.J.
Jake Burnette took the loss in relief for the Power (31-26) after giving up five earned runs on three hits and three walks in just 12/3 innings. Starter Tyler Glasno struck out eight and gave up three runs in five frames.
Stetson Allie smacked his 16th home run of the season for West Virginia and drove in two runs, bringing his RBI total to 54. Max Moroff also went deep for the Power.
Art Charles, Willie Carmona, and Justin Dalles each drove in a pair of runs for the BlueClaws (23-32).
The Power is off today with Delmarva coming in to start a three-game set at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at Appalachian Power Park.
WVGA GOLF: Brothers Jay and Woody Woodward edged the teams of Steve Fox and Pat Carter and Thadd Obecny and Trenton McPherson to win their second-straight WVGA Four-Ball Championship on Sunday at Glade Springs in Daniels.
The Woodwards shot a two-day total of 133, winning by one stroke.
