All Marshall season tickets that were not renewed by customers from the 2012 season are now available for purchase by the general public. Season-ticket packages are priced as low as $130 for the six-game home season.The MU ticket office will host a Choose-A-Seat program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22 at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.Prospective buyers will have the opportunity to browse the stadium to select a seat location. Ticket office representatives will be stationed at Gate A on the west side of the stadium.Also, tickets for all of the road games are available. Big Green members and season-ticket holders may call the ticket office to order those tickets. All others must buy tickets via Herdzone.com or call 1-800-THE-HERD. The priority deadline to order for the Ohio and Virginia Tech games is Aug. 2.
POWER POSTPONED: The West Virginia Power game at Delmarva scheduled for Monday was postponed due to inclement weather.The Power and Shorebirds are slated to play two doubleheaders over the next two days. Today's doubleheader will begin at 6:05 p.m. and Wednesday's twinbill begins 5:05 p.m.
AREA GOLF: The 40th West Virginia Women's Senior Amateur will tee off at 8:30 a.m. today at Clarksburg Country Club.The 36-hole stroke-play format, which is the first women's championship of the season, concludes Wednesday.After today's opening round, the players will be divided into six flights. A winner, runner-up and low net will be awarded in each flight.
Charleston Catholic's Aaron Persily was one of nine boys qualifiers at an American Junior Golf Association qualifier held Monday at Bellefonte Country Club in Ashland, Ky.
Persily and eight others qualified to play the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior held Wednesday at Bellefonte. The course will play 5,931 yards for the boys, with 144 total players are expected to compete.Persily finished third in Class A at the state golf tournament last fall in Wheeling, as the Irish won the state title.Jonathan Clark of Sleepy Hollow Golf Club fired a 71 to finish in an eight-way tie for seventh place Monday at the Tam O'Shanter Open at Tam O'Shanter Golf Course in Hermitage, Pa.
Clark also earned a spot as a Tri-State PGA representative in the Greenbrier Classic open qualifier on July 1 at the Resort at Glade Springs.nn
WVU BASKETBALL: Former West Virginia women's basketball standout Natalie Burton has been selected to play on the Australian National Team.During her career as a Mountaineer, Burton experienced four consecutive postseason appearances with the WNIT in 2009, followed by three NCAA appearances.nn
