Morgantown lineman commits to WVU
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia got the third verbal commitment to its football recruiting class Monday and only the second from a state player in the past three classes.
Amanii Brown is a 6-foot-5, 264-pound offensive lineman from Morgantown High School. He was offered a scholarship after performing at one of West Virginia's camps over the weekend and accepted almost immediately.
Brown, who is expected to play tackle at WVU, will be a senior at Morgantown this fall. He joins quarterback William Crest of Baltimore and receiver Ricky Rogers of Monroeville, Pa., as WVU's verbal commitments to date.
In the past two recruiting classes, the only state player who has signed with the Mountaineers is incoming freshman Elijah Wellman of Spring Valley.
