Roundup: Remaining WVU football season tickets go on sale Monday
West Virginia University will place remaining football season tickets on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. Season tickets for the six-game home schedule are $365 each.
A limited number of tickets in the Green Zone will be available at www.wvugame.com and do not require a per-seat Mountaineer Athletic Club contribution. All other available tickets are located in the Orange and Gold Zone sections and require a $125 per-seat MAC contribution. Season-ticket orders can be made by calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or in person at the Mountaineer Ticket Office at the WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers season gets underway Aug. 31 when WVU faces William & Mary at Milan Puskar Stadium.
WVU BIG 12 HONORS: The Big 12 Conference named 45 West Virginia University student-athletes to the inaugural Academic All-Big 12 rookie team on Thursday.
A total of 383 Big 12 newcomers were named to the team, with the Mountaineers sending the third-most student-athletes, behind Texas (65) and Baylor (46). WVU baseball player Brock Dykxhoorn, rowing student-athlete Mary Ignatiadis and women's soccer player Amanda Hill were among the 22 members selected with a 4.0 grade-point average.
YOUTH SOFTBALL: The Marshall softball team will host three softball camps for various ages, directed by head coach Shonda Stanton, along with former assistant coach Amanda Williams and current and former Marshall players, in July.
All camps will be held on campus at Dot Hicks Field. Each camper will receive a T-shirt. Interested persons can print off brochures at HerdZone.com and send registration forms plus a $25 non-refundable deposit to the softball offices at P.O. Box 1360, Huntington, WV, 25715.

PREP TRACK: Cabell Midland High School distance runner Alexandria Ellis signed to run at the University of Rio Grande on Thursday.
Ellis competed in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs as well as the discus this spring, establishing personal records of 2:25.98 in the 800 and 73 feet, 8 inches in the discus. Ellis also finished 48th in the cross country state championship last October with a time of 21:05.46.
CONCORD FOOTBALL: Concord senior linebacker Jake Lilly and cornerback Riyahd Richardson were given pre-season All-American recognitions from the Beyond Sports Network on Thursday.
Last season, Lilly recorded 126 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, six pass breakups and was named West Virginia Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Richardson totaled five interceptions, 13 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 28 tackles.
