Prep soccer: No. 2 Sissonville boys rout No. 4 Ravenswood

Josh Rawson posted a pair of goals as Class AA No. 2 Sissonville blanked host No. 4 Ravenswood 9-0 Thursday in boys soccer.Chase Mcvey, Sam Gary, Dougie Harding, Caleb Calhoun, Andy Minsker, Tyler Grimm and Bruce Taylor also had goals for the Indians (4-0-1).
  • GW 5, NITRO 0: Five different Patriot players scored as George Washington blanked host Nitro. Noah Miller, Drew Davis, Alex Davis, Graham Platz and Peter Nelson each had a goal for GW (5-0). Nitro (2-3) was outshot 18-4.
  • CROSS LANES 10, GRACE 0: Kyle Davis and Tyler Corbin each tallied three goals in the Warriors' victory over host Grace (0-4). Ian George, Ben O'Dell, Nike Tanzey and Brent Purdich all added a goal apiece for Cross Lanes (3-0).  
  • SC 5, CAPITAL 2: Jonah Cosby scored two goals for host South Charleston in a win over the Cougars. Chris Brown, Derek Nelson and Kwesi Wilkerson scored a goal apiece for the Black Eagles (4-1). Zac Koontz and Logan Garrison tallied the goals for Capital (3-2).  
  •   WINFIELD 5, RIVERSIDE 0: Winfield produced five first-half goals and cruised to a home win over Riverside (0-4-1). Joey Richmond had two goals for the Generals (2-2-1), while Hunter Sheldon, Noah Laliberty and Ronnie Beale each had one.
  • HURRICANE 8, LINCOLN COUNTY 0 : Guillermo Ugarte and Loran Meadows each scored three goals as Hurricane rolled to a win over visiting Lincoln County. Chris Smith and Conner Fowler also tallied a goal for the Redskins (3-1-1).
  • SHADY SPRING 1, HOOVER 0: Keegan Mueller scored as Shady Spring (1-3) edged visiting Herbert Hoover. Brett Strickland made 19 saves for the Huskies (1-4).

  • CATHOLIC 12, SHERMAN 0: Eleven different Charleston Catholic players had goals as the Class AA-A No. 3 Fighting Irish cruised to a road win.
  • Anna Whelan netted two goals for Catholic (6-0), while Payton Mullen, Sophie Bumgarner, Peyton Keener, Katie Pulliam, Grace Umstot, Sydney Moore, Quincy McKown, Brianna Ross, Annie Crockett and Emily Holmes had one goal apiece. Sherman (0-4) was outshot 19-0.
  • HERBERT HOOVER 10, RAVENSWOOD 1: Hannah Schoolcraft, Cassie Hammes and Emilee Henry recorded two goals apiece as Class AA-A No. 10 Herbert Hoover picked up a road win. Morgan Neeley, Leslie Taylor, Caroline Thornburg and Lilian Gandee also scored for the Huskies (4-1-1). Chesney Hudson had the lone goal for Ravenswood (1-2).
  • GW 2, NITRO 0: Hannah Ellis and Kate Eddy each pitched in a goal apiece to help the Patriots (4-1) knock off the visiting Wildcats (1-3) at the Schoenbaum Soccer Complex.
  • WINFIELD 10, RIVERSIDE 1: Mackenzie Pritt recorded a hat trick as Class AAA No. 1 Winfield cruised to a road win.
  • The Generals (7-0) also received goals from M.E. Zulauf, Jayne Lawman, Mackenzie Arthur, Jordan Pauley, Paige Bannister, Mary Lawman and Claire Miller. Freshman Ashley Hancock had the lone goal for the Warriors (2-3).
