Soccer roundup: Ugarte's four goals lead Hurricane boys past Riverside

Guillermo Ugarte erputed for four goals as Class AAA No. 10 Hurricane downed Riverside 5-1 in boys soccer Thursday.Kaleb Simmons also scored for the Redskins (6-1-1). Cameron Norris had the lone goal for the Warriors (2-5-1).

  • HUNTINGTON 2, CAPITAL 1: Tory Shackelford and Isabella Chirico produced one goal each as Huntington picked up a road win. Ally Reeves found the back of the net for Capital (4-5). Sarah Keith had six saves for the Highlanders while Jenna Bshara made four stops for the Cougars.
  • HOOVER 3, SHADY SPRING 2: Emilee Henry tallied three goals as Herbert Hoover (5-2-1) downed Shady Spring at the YMCA Soccer Complex in Beckley. Lauren Solock and Lyndsey Thompson scored one goal each for the Tigers.
