On the spotRakeem Cato, Marshall quarterback, and his receiving corps: Can the pass catchers have any more success in getting open than East Carolina's against the Hokies? Can Cato recognize lockdown coverage and leave the pocket with good results against faster defenders? Can Cato successfully navigate his passes through a gang of ballhawks - again, better than ECU's Shane Carden?Darryl Roberts, Marshall cornerback: More than anything, he is mentioned here for the mental picture of being sent on a cornerback blitz (and he is good at those) against behemoth QB Logan Thomas. That, folks, is a size mismatch.Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech quarterback: His play has been described as "good Logan" and "bad Logan." Last week, he was good in leading two touchdown drives, bad in nearly handing ECU a defensive touchdown.
Cody Journell, Virginia Tech kicker: Behind many a big upset is a critical missed field goal by the favored team. Journell nearly handed the game to East Carolina last week by missing an extra point and two field goals. One figures this established player will shake that slump, but you never know for sure.
