Pair of Mountaineers earns Big 12 honors
West Virginia had a pair of players - running back Charles Sims and punter Nick O'Toole - earn Big 12 football player of the week honors following its upset of No. 11 Oklahoma State.
Sims had 167 all-purpose yards, including 60 yards and a touchdown rushing and five catches for 82 yards. O'Toole punted eight times for a 44.6-yard average, pinning the Cowboys inside their own 20 twice.
The league also selected Iowa State running back Aaron Wimberly as a co-offensive player of the week and TCU safety Sam Carter as its defensive honoree.
