Roundup: WVU athletes sweep weekly Big 12 swimming, diving awards
The Big 12 Conference has named West Virginia junior swimmer Tim Squires and junior diver Haily VandePoel the Big 12 swimmer and diver of the week. This marks the second straight swimmer of the week award for the WVU men's team and VandePoel's honor marks the first award of the season for the women.
The West Virginia University rifle team dropped two positions to No. 3 in this week's College Rifle Coaches Association Poll.
Frances Silva scored two goals and pushed the No. 15-ranked WVU women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Kansas in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Soccer Championship in Kansas City, MO. Tessa Broadwater also scored the Mountaineers.
RACQUETBALL TOURNEY: The Charleston Family YMCA will have a Turkey Shoot Racquetball Tournament on Nov. 16 starting at 9 a.m.
Entry fee is $25 for members and $35 for non-members, and the registration deadline is Nov 15. USRA rules apply and you must be 18 years of age or older to compete.

SOCCER AWARD: The Kanawha Southern Soccer Board will be giving sportsmanship awards to one girls and one boys high school team.
Board members will submit nominees and three will be chosen as finalists.
The winner will be announced Nov. 18.
