Buffalo's Chelsey Parkins passed Tara Lewis on the school's all-time scoring list Tuesday night.
Senior Chelsey Parkins scored 14 points and became Buffalo's all-time leading scorer in a 43-38 win over visiting Poca in girls basketball Tuesday night.
Parkins, who now has 1,154 points, surpassed Tara Lewis' career total of 1,143. The game was stopped right before halftime and Parkins was honored for the accomplishment with several of Buffalo's 1,000 career-point scorers in attendance. Parkins is also two rebounds shy of 1,000 for her career.
Katie Allen added 11 points for the Class A Bison (2-1). Freshman Casey Skeens had a team-high 14 points for the Class AA Dots (0-3).
RIPLEY 63, POINT PLEASANT 8: Chelsey Hager scored 19 points and Sarah Williams chipped in 16 as Ripley (2-0) crushed Point Pleasant. Cassie Nibert led Point Pleasant (0-3) with six points.
ELK VALLEY 82, HANNAN 21: Chelsea Burdette poured in 32 points to pace visiting Elk Valley Christian. Jamie Brown scored 22 points for Elk Valley and Hannah Williams contributed 13. Anna Taylor had seven points for the Wildcats.
SOUTH 70, LINSLY 64: J.R. Kerr scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Parkersburg South. Garrett Gilkeson chipped in 11 points for the Patriots (1-0). For Linsly (0-1), Anthony Wallace led the way with 19 points.
ST. JOSEPH 67, TEAYS VALLEY 51: St. Joseph jumped out to a 20-6 first-quarter lead en route to victory over Teays Valley Christian. Keith Clemons led the Fighting Irish (1-0) with 16 points and Ian Clark chipped in 15 points. For Teays Valley (3-2), Parker D'Antoni scored 16 points.
