Roundup: MU women knock off NJIT

Suporia Dickens hit two foul shots with 20 seconds left to lift the Marshall women's basketball team to a 57-56 win at New Jersey Institute of Technology on Sunday.Dickens and A.J. Johnson each scored 14 points to lead all scorers for the Thundering Herd (7-6). Leah Scott pitched in with 11 points for Marshall.Alyssa Albanese and Martina Matejcikova each scored 10 points for NJIT (4-14).

  • HOMETOWN TOURNEY: A coaches seeding meeting has been set in Weston on Jan. 19 for the fourth boys basketball West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament. All 22 schools competing in the event are scheduled to attend.First-round games will be set for the weekend of Jan. 24-25, which for the first time will match Division I opponents from the North and South divisions. The final round, which features 11 games, including the championship contest, is scheduled for Feb. 14-15 at the Summersville Convention Center.
