MEC AWARDS: Fairmont State guard Stevie Browning has been named Mountain East Conference men's basketball player of the week for his efforts in leading the Falcons to a 2-0 week. Browning, a sophomore from Logan, scored a career-high 28 points, including 14 straight late in the second half, to get the Falcons past Wheeling Jesuit. He followed that performance with 17 points and eight rebounds as Fairmont State held off Concord on Saturday.
Glenville State's Keyanna Tate has been named the Mountain East Conference women's player of the week after leading the 12th-ranked Pioneers to a 3-0 week. Tate averaged 16.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games in wins over Charleston, Urbana and Wheeling Jesuit.nn
