Stark Raven, a popular Charleston band from the mid-’80s till it disbanded in 1992, makes its return as part of the kick-off for the 2017-18 Woody Hawley Series.

Tickets for the 2017-18 Woody Hawley Series are on sale now.

The new season, announced earlier this week, includes a reunion concert by Stark Raven, singer/songwriter Ronnie Fruge, folk duo Danika & Jeb, the annual Hank Williams tribute show with John Lilly and Rob McNurlin, pianist Bob Malone and a special night with Ron Sowell & the Killer Tomatoes.

The series will kick off Aug. 10 with Stark Raven.

Formed in Charleston in the mid-1980s, the band toured extensively before disbanding in 1992. Most of the members of Stark Raven, including Woody Hawley Series host Ron Sowell, went on to become part of the “Mountain Stage” house band.

All shows will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Clay Center’s Walker Theater, except where otherwise noted.

Tickets are $20 for all shows, except for tickets to the Hank Williams Tribute, which are $25. Season tickets are available for $110.
