The Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College wraps up its 10-week summer program of music, dance, crafts and folklore with the annual Augusta Festival this weekend. Festivities begin Friday with a vocal workshop and open sing, as well as a festival dance featuring square dancing to live music in the open-air Augusta Dance Pavilion on the Elkins campus. Saturday’s activities include a crafts fair along with open fiddle and banjo contests. Saturday night the festival concert features Mountain Stage with Larry Groce, with Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winner Tom Paxton and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter duo The Don Juans as the headline act. Most events are free and open to the public. The Mountain Stage concert is $25 for general admission.
