The annual Pinch Reunion, which started in 1902 and is the longest-running community reunion in the nation, kicks off with a concert series starting at 5 p.m. Friday at the Pinch Reunion Grounds, located at 168 North Pinch Road in Elkview. Other events include a 5k run at 8 a.m. Saturday at Pinch Elementary School, a baking competition at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pinch VFW Hall, a vendor sale and concession stand beginning at 10 a.m. at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, and games and competitions throughout the day. A concert with national recording star SaraBeth gets underway at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wigwam with an autograph session to follow. For information, visit
