Nitro rolled over Scott 13-0 in five innings of play. Jacob Bradley struck out eight on the way to a three-hit shutout as the Wildcats blanked the Skyhawks in five innings. Dylan Slack hit a pair of doubles and knocked in four runs for Nitro, while Cody Harvey doubled for Scott.
Herbert Hoover 6, Wayne 1 -- Hunter White had 10 strikeouts in six innings pitched as Herbert Hoover won on the road. Tristan Fields had a double and batted in a run for the Huskies. Shaun Dotson provided drove in another run for Hoover. Mike Perry pitched six innings and struck out six for the Pioneers.
Buffalo 12, Clay County 2 -- Beau Whittington pitched four innings striking out six and walking four as the Bison defeated Clay county at home. Laythen Good provided the offense for Buffalo going 1-1 with 3RBI. Storm Carver struck out two for Clay County in the loss.
Woodrow Wilson 12, South Charleston 0 -- Flying Eagle pitcher Josh Rakes threw a one-hit shutout as the Black Eagles were blanked at home in their season opener. Matt Thompson drove in three runs, while Chris Metrick added two for Woodrow Wilson. Despite the loss, South Charleston pitcher Tyler Abbott struck out seven opposing batters.
Winfield 7, Spring Valley 0 -- Bryan Bosley threw a six-hit shutout as the Generals defeated the Timberwolves in their home opener. For Winfield, Brandon Wright hit two doubles and stole two bases, while Tate Hancock drew three walks in addition to hitting a single. Chandler Milum hit two doubles for Spring Valley in the loss.
