Cody Bowen went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI as Herbert Hoover stayed unbeaten with a 13-3 win over Nicholas County at Jeff Holliday Field.
Bowen also provided the defense pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits. Tristan Fields went 2-for-4 for Hoover (4-0), adding 2 RBI. Will Mayes went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the loss for the Grizzlies.
Sissonville 5, Ravenswood 2 -- Josh Landis went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI for Sissonville (4-1) in the win at home. Ethan Lauchart pitched six innings, struck out two, and allowed two runs on five hits for the Indians. Logan Jarrett had two doubles for Ravenswood in the loss.
Nitro 6, Point Pleasant 2 -- Kip Brewer pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits as Nitro (3-0) won at Brandon Matthew Sneed Field. Jacob Bradley drove in two runs on 2-for-3 hitting. Matt Jewell added another two RBI for the Wildcats. Alex Somerville had a triple for the Big Blacks.
Oak Hill 12, St. Albans 11 -- Oak Hill held off an eight-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning by St. Albans (1-2) at Loftis Field. Daniel Pritt went 2-for-5 for Oak Hill and pitched five innings. For St. Albans, Hunter Chandler went 3-for-5 with two doubles in the loss.
Scott 15, Van 1 -- Scott (1-2) earned its first win of the season behind a pair of doubles and two RBI apiece from Dylyn Brown and Alex Miller at Madison. Scottie Thompson pitched all four innings of the game for the Skyhawks, striking out seven while handing out two free passes. Justin Lambert had a double and an RBI as the Bulldogs drop their opening game of the season.
