One taken to hospital after I-79 rock slide

A rock-slide reduced traffic in the southbound lanes of Interstate 77 just outside of Charleston to one lane during rush hour Wednesday evening.

One person was transported to a hospital around 4 p.m. after their car was hit by rocks in the slide, according to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers.

All lanes were reopened at 5:30 p.m. near the Mink Shoals exit, where the incident occurred.
