If you think all there is to board games are Monopoly, Clue and Scrabble, then think again! Saturday is International Tabletop Day, a free event designed to celebrate the various types of tabletop gaming. Local residents can join in the fun at the Kanawha Players Theater, 309 Beauregard St., starting at 6 p.m. This event and others around the world are being held in conjunction with the YouTube network Geek & Sundry, which has its own webshow on the subject, Tabletop (hosted by nerd extraordinaire Wil Wheaton). The event will feature card, board and role-playing games for all ages, as well as an 18-and-up timeslot. Gamers old and new are invited to attend. The night ends with a 10 p.m. screening of the gaming movie, “The Gamers: Hands of Fate.” Call 304-343-7529.
