WVU recruits playing in Beckley today

A pair of West Virginia basketball recruits is set to participate in tonight’s Scott Brown Classic at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

Guards Daxter Miles, from Dunbar High in Baltimore, and Jevon Carter, from Proviso East in Maywood, Ill., are scheduled to play for the Little Generals team in the national all-star game set for about 6:30 p.m. South Charleston’s Vic Herbert coaches that squad.

Huntington St. Joseph Prep coach Rob Fulford will guide the Crossroads Chevy team, with three of his own players on the roster — Jalen Lindsey, Josh Perkins and Coleman Spann. Tickets are priced at $10 for reserved seating and $8 for general admission.

A game pitting West Virginia Class AA and A all-stars is set to tip off about 4 p.m.
