Man shot and killed in Putnam Co. domestic dispute
An early Saturday morning domestic dispute left one man dead, and remains under investigation, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department said.
Authorities say 31-year-old Curtis Adams forced his way into his ex-wife’s home.
Adams was then shot in the chest, authorities said.
Putnam County Detective Shawn Johnson said Adams’ cousin, who was also at the house, flagged down a car.
“She stopped,” Johnson said of the driver. “She was just trying to help out.” Adams was put in the car and taken to the Route 34 Volunteer Fire Department near Red House, where he later died. Johnson said Adams had been released from jail in December after serving time for domestic violence.
Five children were in the house during the dispute, Johnson said.
The case will be presented to a grand jury, probably in July, to determine whether charges will be filed, he said.
