BECKLEY — A Beckley man who pocketed cash payments rightly intended for his employer has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay restitution.
Mark Randall Trump, 44, was sentenced Thursday on a fraud charge, the government said. According to prosecutors, Trump was a branch manager for Walker Machinery, operating an express store in Crab Orchard. The fraud occurred from 2009 to early 2012.
Trump gave select customers discounts on equipment rentals if payment was made with cash or personal check. The payments were then deposited in his personal banking account.
Prosecutors say Trump reaped $90,000 from the fraud and caused more than $350,000 in losses to Walker Machinery. He was ordered to pay $367,000 in restitution.
