A lunchtime hike to see the West Side mural by Charly Jupiter Hamilton, in progress and up close, will begin at noon Wednesday at Charleston Montessori School, 805 Price St. The hike, part of Charleston Montessori’s Life’s a Hike program, will go down Washington Street to the mural and back to the school. Business After Hours
Charleston Area Alliance and Four Points by Sheraton will host the next Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at 600 Kanawha Blvd. E. The cost is $15 for Alliance members and $25 for future members who register online by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Prices after Wednesday will increase to $25 for Alliance members and $35 for future members. Business After Hours offers opportunities to meet the region’s leaders in a relaxed setting with food, drinks and entertainment. To register, call 304-340-4253.
Open Stage 4 Kids
The next Open Stage 4 Kids event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Unity of Kanawha Valley, 804 Myrtle Road. The event is for youth performers ages 5-15 who want to share a talent such as playing an instrument, singing, dancing, telling a joke, showing a piece of art, magic or just talking into a microphone. Silly songs are welcome. Hosts will be Ron Sowell and Sky Kershner. There is no charge. Gastroparesis support group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, beginning May 6, at the Kanawha County Public Library. Patients, family members, caregivers, educators, doctors and others who express interest in learning more about gastroparesis are welcome.
