Buffalo 3, Man 2: Freshman Connor Fields knocked in the game-winning run with a double in the bottom of the 11th inning as Buffalo outlasted visiting Man. Aaron Lewis struck out 17 in 10 innings and Laythen Good and Brad Harris each added two hits for the Bison. Braden Griffin recorded 10 strikeouts in seven innings and blasted a two-run homer to lead the Hillbillies.
Logan 11, St. Albans 5: Josh Rein went 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs to help Logan take fifth place in the Ed Carter Memorial at St. Albans High School. Chase Preston drove in three runs on three hits and Trace Butcher added two RBIs for the Wildcats. Andrew Matthews and Chase Bishop each had a home run and two RBIs and Mitchel Laton added two hits for the Red Dragons (9-11).
Hoover sweeps Liberty: Tristan Fields stroked a grand slam and fired a five-inning two-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the opener to spark host Herbert Hoover to an 18-0, 11-1 doubleheader sweep of Liberty Raleigh. Hunter White (4 for 7) had four extra-base hits in the two games, and the Huskies (17-3) ripped six homers in the doubleheader. Fields, Shaun Dotson (two homers, three RBIs) and Joel Ridenour (three-run shot) all went deep in the second game as Chase Stover and Dotson teamed on a five-inning two-hitter.
George Washington 9, Chapmanville 8: Garrett Vogelbach scored three times and four players got two hits each as George Washington held on to win, helped by five unearned runs. John Thomas, Connor Moffatt, Ty McClanahan and Josh Petit all had two hits apiece for the Patriots (11-7). William Copley and Brent Bigley each went 3 for 4 for the Tigers (17-5).
Charleston Catholic 12, Clay 6: Connor Golden improved to 6-0 and five different Irish players donated a pair of hits to spark a road victory. Thad Jameson, Jordan Covelli, Golden, Michael Martin and David Hamilton also had two hits for Charleston Catholic (14-6). Jarrod Woodyard went 3 for 4 for the Panthers (9-9).
Ripley 16, Woodrow Wilson 9: Remy Boyce went 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs for Ripley, which led 13-1 after two innings. Cody Pittenger went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for the Vikings (14-10). Woodrow (15-4) was led by Josh Rakes and Hunter Halstead, who each had two hits.
Valley 15, Tug Valley 6: Demaria Davis went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs as Valley earned a road win. Donte Wilkerson drove in two runs on two hits and Raeshawn Breckenridge and Joseph Eckert each had an RBI for the Greyhounds (11-6). Josh Stacy and Jimmy Newsome both doubled for Tug Valley.
Clay County 15, Richwood 5: Jarod Woodyard hit an inside-the-park home run and drove in two runs to give Clay County a home win. Cooper Osborne went 4 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Noah Taylor doubled for the Panthers (9-8). Logan Cox had two doubles and an RBI for the Lumberjacks (1-14).
Wayne 3, Russell, Ky., 0: Jessie Row pitched a three-hit shutout as Wayne picked up a road win in Rush, Ky. Alli Maynard smacked three doubles for the Pioneers.
Portsmouth Notre Dame 7, Wayne 3: Shannon Stevenson went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs as Portsmouth Notre Dame bested Wayne in Rush, Ky. Alli Maynard went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs for the Pioneers, while Tara Watts added two hits.
Ritchie 4, Doddridge 0: Kenna DeLancey threw a no-hitter and fanned 15 to spark the host Rebels (18-3). Lacy Perkins (five-hitter, six strikeouts) took the loss for the Bulldogs.
Point Pleasant 10, Belpre 0: Madison Barker allowed just one hit as Point Pleasant shut out Belpre (Ohio) in five innings in the Gallia Academy Tournament in Gallipolis, Ohio. Megan Hammond recorded two triples and two RBIs and Makinley Higginbotham and Carissa Cochran each drove in a run for the Big Blacks (17-6).
Point Pleasant 8, Gallia Academy 2: Point Pleasant scored six runs in the fifth inning to pull away from host Gallia Academy in the Gallia Academy Tournament in Gallipolis, Ohio.
