Virgil D. Eagle, 83, of Big Chimney, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his home.
He was retired from Fruehauf with nine years of service. He worked at Purity Maid Bakery for 26 years.
He was a 1950 graduate of Clay County High School. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War, member of VFW Post No. 8516, American Legion Post No. 6l, Clendenin. He enjoyed camping at Burnsville and gardening.
He was born Aug. 18, 1930 to the late Everette and Lela Eagle. In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline and sister, Christena.
He is survived by his son, Tony of Pinch; daughter, Tamra and her husband, Ed of Pilot, Va.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Hafer Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Frank Allen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to American Legion Post No. 61, P. O. Box 903 Clendenin, WV, and Sand Run Gospel Tabernacle, 4616 Elk Shore Drive, Charleston, WV 25302.
