Carol Sue Armstrong, 71, of Charl-ton Heights, a retired bank teller and loving mother of three, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2014 after a long battle with Ovarian cancer.
Born in Cedar Grove to Charles Alex and Ruth Dooley, Mrs. Armstrong lived in Charlton Heights where she enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family. She was a long time member of the Boomer Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Alex Dooley; her siblings, Doris Campbell O'Dell, Leonard Dooley, Laird Dooley, Merrill Dooley, Malcolm "Mac" Dooley and Patsy Garretson.
She is survived by her sons, Todd Armstrong of Kanawha City and Mike Armstrong of Charlton Heights,; daughter, Michelle Harper also of Charlton Heights; grandchildren, Michael and Laura Armstrong of Charleston and Jimmy and Jenna Harper of Charlton Heights; surviving siblings are Betty Young of Shrewsbury and Beverly Dooley of Cleveland, Ohio.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a service remembering her life and testimony immediately following at 6 p.m. at the Boomer Baptist Church, Route 60 East, Boomer with Pastor Jim Neeson officiating.
The family extends their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the oncology floor at CAMC Memorial Hospital for the care they provided to her and to the Hubbard Hospice House for the care, comfort and compassion they showed Mrs. Armstrong and the family during this time.
