Cass, in Pocahontas County, is the setting and primary filming location for “Angel’s Perch,” which will be screened at 6:15 p.m. Friday in the Clay Center’s ElectricSky Theater. The film follows a successful, young Pittsburgh architect named Jack (J.T. Arbogast, right), who travels back to his hometown to care for his ailing grandmother, Polly (Joyce Van Patten, left).
The screening is a benefit for the Clay Center and the West Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, who will evenly split the night’s proceeds. An opening reception with hors d’oeuvres and cash bar begins at 5:30 in the art gallery, and a Q&A with Arbogast, who also wrote and produced the film, which is based on his own experiences, closes the evening.
Tickets are $25. Call 304-561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org/angelsperch.
