Three regional groups get economic development grants

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Three regional groups in West Virginia have been awarded $70,000 federal grants apiece for initiatives that support job creation.

U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin and Jay Rockefeller announced the Economic Development Administration grants Thursday.

Receiving the grants are the Region VII Planning and Development Council, the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Planning and Development Council and the Eastern Panhandle Regional Planning and Development Council. They represent a total of 18 counties.
