Jackson County woman charged with sex abuse
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Police on Wednesday arrested a Jackson County woman they say sexually abused a woman with cerebral palsy inside a Charleston hospital room.
Marlene Donna McDougal, 51, of Kenna, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse in connection to an April 25 incident at CAMC Memorial Hospital, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
A witness told police she saw McDougal, who was a patient at the hospital, lying on top of the woman in her bed and allegedly making sexual contact. She left the hospital after she was confronted about the alleged incident.
According to the complaint, McDougal later admitted to police that she was in bed with the woman.
McDougal was being held Thursday in South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash-only bail.
