PREP BASEBALL: Hoover’s Farmer to play baseball at WVU Tech

Herbert Hoover three-year starting catcher Matthew Farmer has signed to continue his baseball career at WVU Tech.

Farmer, who helped lead the Huskies to the 2012 Class AA state championship game as a sophomore and helped them win the title last year, signed during a ceremony on Monday at the school.

This season, Farmer is batting .394 with 15 walks and only seven strikeouts. He also has two doubles and 16 RBI.

He’ll be playing his college baseball for coach Lawrence Nesselrodt at the NAIA school in Montgomery.

The Golden Bears finished 18-29 this past season.
