Area golf: Jude wins Amateur Tour event at Sleepy Hollow

Marshall University golfer and Kermit native Davey Jude shot a 3-under 69 on Monday to win the Wendy’s Amateur Tour event at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club.

The event at the 6,928-yard, par 72 layout in Hurricane marks the end of the Wendy’s Amateur Tour spring season and the top 12 qualifiers from the men’s division and the top four from the women’s move to Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa., for the invitation-only tournament on May 19.

The five spring events were won by Morgantown’s Josh Arbaugh (Resort at Glade Springs), Huntington’s Cam Roam (Edgewood Country Club), two by Mason’s Trent Roush (Rolling Hills and Nemacolin Resort) and Jude (Sleepy Hollow).

The Wendy’s fall season will begin on Sept. 16 at Stonewall Resort with events at Riverside Golf Club, Williams Country Club, Oglebay Resort and Berry Hills Country Club before concluding with the fall finale at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport.
