WHEELING, W.Va. — A former bank executive is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to bank fraud.
Media outlets report that 60-year-old John Aman, of Clarksburg, entered his plea in U.S. District Court in Wheeling late last month. A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
Prosecutors said Aman used an elderly in-law’s power of attorney to fraudulently obtain loans. The victim died at age 89 in 2011.
Aman formerly worked as an executive at West Union Bank and Huntington National Bank. He obtained loans from both banks.
Prosecutors say Aman also used stock owned by the victim as collateral for another loan he obtained from Freedom Bank.
