Kids’ fishing tournament set for this weekend

The 14th annual Kids Fishing Tournament will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Lick Creek Pond at East Lynn Lake.

The tournament includes four age categories: 3 years old and under; 4 to 6 years old; 7 to 11 years old; and 12 to 15 years old. Prizes will be given to participants who catch the most, the smallest, and the largest fish within the four age categories. The sign-in begins at 8:45 a.m. and fishing starts at 9:30 a.m. The event is hosted by Walmart and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Refreshments, lunch and prizes will be provided by Walmart. Bring your fishing gear. Lick Creek Pond is located off W.Va. 37, about 18 miles east of Wayne.

The tournament coincides with the West Virginia Free Fishing Weekend, which is Saturday and Sunday.
