Willy Shuman Family Fun Night
The Fifth Annual Willy Shuman Memorial Family Fun Night will be held June 6 from 5-8 p.m. at the Charleston Tennis Club.
This fundraiser is held each year to commemorate the life of William Albert Shuman, a 19-year-old 2009 graduate of George Washington High School, who was tragically killed just days before his departure to the United States Air Force Academy, where he was recruited on a tennis scholarship.
The money donated at this event will benefit The Willy Foundation, a non-profit organization that was created in Willy’s honor.
This foundation strives to support young students mentally, physically and financially by providing funds for programs such as The WAS Challenge and The Willy Shuman Leadership Club.
Community members and their families are encouraged to come out for a night of fun that includes a tennis round robin for adults and children, tennis instruction, live music, cookout food, an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, rock walls, a silent auction, a raffle, and more.
A ticket donation of $25 per person gives access to food and play.
