Dempsey Lee Lewis, 84, of Ansted, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, following a long illness.
Dempsey was born May 22, 1930, in Charleston. He was the son of the late Emory Calvin Lewis and the late Blanche McCallister.
His usual occupation was fast food management in Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Va.
Survivors are his wife, Janet Lewis of Ansted; a daughter, Michelle Malloy of Triangle, Va.; a son, Gregory Lewis and Donnette of Bealeton, Va; a brother, Elwood Lewis of Baltimore, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Shay Malloy, Michael Malloy, Kaley Malloy, Michelle, Christina, Samantha, Catherine and Linsey Lewis; and a great-grandchild, Steven Malloy.
The Lewis family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Hospice for the great service provided to Dempsey during his illness.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor, with Pastor Gerald Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
Per Dempsey's request, there will be no public visitation.
