Reginald W. Jacobs, 81, of South Charleston, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
He was born Sept. 4, 1932 in Culpepper, Va., the son of Charles Wrenn and Melissa Jackson Jacobs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Lou Jacobs.
Reginald retired from Union Carbide after 45 years of service as a chemical engineer. He was a graduate of University of Virginia, where he also gave lectures on practical applications of engineering to prospective engineering graduates. He was an avid gardener and loved raising flowers. His award winning Dahlias were often the talk of the town. He loved eating at the Golden Corral and could be seen there on almost a daily basis. He was also a US Army Veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Jacobs, of Cincinnati, Ohio and son, Randall Jacobs, of Nitro.
Time of celebration and gathering will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 9 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B. St., St. Albans. Private family burial will be in Culpepper, Virginia.
