The Greenbrier Classic officials announced Thursday the commitment of six-time major championship winner Nick Faldo.
International major champions Angel Cabrera, Darren Clarke, Retief Goosen, Trevor Immelman and Vijay Singh also join the field for the Greenbrier Classic, which will take place June 30-July 6 at The Greenbrier.
Those commitments represent 15 major championship victories. Faldo has won nine times on the PGA Tour, including three Masters and three British Open championships. In 1998, after 39 tournament victories around the world and 11 consecutive Ryder Cup appearances, Faldo was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame. The Englishman is lead analyst for CBS Sports and the Golf Channel.
Cabrera is a two-time major championship winner U.S. Open and Masters). Clarke has recorded three PGA Tour wins, including the British Open. Goosen, who has won seven times on Tour including two U.S. Open titles, will be returning for his second appearance at The Greenbrier, missing the cut in 2011. Immelman, a Masters champion, will be making his fifth start in the Classic. Singh, a World Golf Hall of Fame member, boasts 34 Tour victories, three of which have been major championships.
